TheSimpleHost – $20.10/3 Months OpenVZ VPS in Germany

Via this WHT offer. TheSimpleHost is a UK based web hosting company started by a handful of BSc Computing graduates in mid 2008, according to its “Company” page. Yes — no under aged teenagers here :) Its pacakges are also a bit dealer, as I have to prepay 3 months to get down to my selection criteria, combining with its current promo code 35VPS that gives 35% off recurring discount. So for $20.10/3 months you get

  • 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 100GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ

Servers are in Frankfurt, Germany.

SysCentral – €2.99 Xen VPS in Germany

Alex from SysCentral emailed me about their current promotion featured on this WHT post. The amount of monthly data has been upgraded since April, and they are running promotion on no-setup-fee (coupon code nosetup) OR 20% off recurring discount (coupon code 20off) — not at the same time though. So €2.99 ($3.86 USD) with no set up fee can get you “XEN vServer Micro”

  • 128MB memory/256MB swap
  • 10GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • Xen

Servers with Hetzner in Germany. Last time Alex claimed that they have been in business for 3.5 years and have 2 technical employees. .DE WHOIS does not show the creation date although DomainTools shows the earliest record at 4 years ago.

QuickWeb – $35.88/Year 64MB Xen VPS in San Jose or Germany

Via this offer at WHT. Love those 64MB Xen VPS which are perfect for running low traffic WordPress sites, and Quick Web have them for $35.88/year with 2 locations to choose from — San Jose or Germany. The package includes

  • 64MB memory/128MB swap
  • 3GB storage
  • 300GB/month data transfer
  • Xen

QuickWeb seems to have come a long way since last year and have been pulling quite a few good offers. 64MB is more than adequate to run a site like LowEndBox.com which gets around only ~70k page views/month (only average 1.62 pages/minute arghhhh). 1 year prepaid is a bit inconvenient though — not that they might not be around in 12 months time, but your demand might change then.

Spacerich – $3.99 Germany/Chicago OpenVZ VPS with 256MB

Via this WHT offer. Spacerich Networks is an Indian company that has been selling cheap dedicated and cheap virtual servers for a while. They actually have two packages under my $7/month threshold — and the cheaper one being just $3.99/month. You get

  • 256MB guaranteed/384MB burstable memory
  • 25GB storage
  • 200GB/month data transfer (or 10Mbps unmetered on Germany servers)
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Servers are in either Germany or Chicago IL. With Germany you either get 10Mbps unmetered or 200GB/month on 100Mbps, and also note that it’s 200GB/month outbound traffic so you only get charged once for your proxy sites  You might also want to check their previous listing here to see whether it’s the kind of company that you wish to go with.

NQHost – $6.95 128MB Xen Unmetered VPS in Germany

Julie from NQHost emailed me about their latest WHT promotion. The company is incorporated in Czech Republic with both US and Germany based servers. Their low cost VPS starts from $6.95/month with the following spec:

  • 128MB memory
  • 8GB storage
  • Unmetered bandwidth (1Gbps pipe on dom0)
  • Xen HVM

Domain hides behind WHOIS privacy and has only been registered for 4 months. Nor is there much info about “Dolorem Ipsum, s.r.o”, NQHost’s suppose holding company. Germany servers are with Hetzner.de.

Webangel.ie – €9/6 Months 64MB Xen VPS in Germany

Paul from Webangel.ie wrote to me again regarding to their plan changes. Their “micro” Xen VPS package is now half-priced, dropped to €9/6 months (USD$1.90/month). The spec has also been slightly altered, and now you get

  • 64MB memory
  • 2GB storage
  • 50GB/month data transfer
  • Xen

Servers are in Germany. It is now one of the cheapest VPS package around — probably the cheapest Xen provider around?! I noted that under the list of Linux distributions available, NetBSD was listed. Although it probably shouldn’t qualify as a Linux distro, but now we have a very low cost xBSD provider.

AlphaHostPlus – 2.85 EUR 96MB OpenVZ VPS in Germany

Via this WHT offer. AlphaHostPlus is a hosting company from San Marino, according to its WHOIS info. Seriously, my geography is so bad that I have no idea where San Marino is when I looked up. It does have some seriously cheap virtual server packages though. For 2.85 EUR/month (~$3.53 USD at the moment) you can get this low end box:

  • 96MB guaranteed/192MB burstable memory
  • 3GB storage
  • 50GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Servers are in Germany. Domain has been registered since September 2009 so the company is still considered “new”.

QuickWeb – $45/Year 128MB Xen VPS in Germany

Via this offer at WHT. QuickWeb, the New Zealand based hosting company at WebHostingTalk, are also offering some cheap VPS in Germany. Very similar deal to their San Jose Xen offer, but in a location probably more favourable to the European users. You do have to pay annually, and for $45/year ($3.75/month) you get

  • 128MB memory/256MB swap
  • 5GB storage
  • 120GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps link
  • Xen/SolusVM

Here is the ordering link, which is not available on their website.

NordicVPS – $6 256MB Xen VPS Exclusive Offer

Adam from NordicVPS emailed me about their special offer for the LowEndBox readers. While you can get their Xen VPS with 128MB for $7/month, they are now offering 50% recurring discount on their Xen 256 package. Normally at $12/month — it is now $6/month with promo code LOWENDBOX. You get

  • 256MB memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • Xen/SolusVM

You can choose either San Jose, CA in US (good for US, Asia and Oceania users), or Falkenstein in Germany (good for European users).

NordicVPS itself is based in Denmark, whom have been providing virtual servers since 2008. The domain itself is registered in March 2009.

VPSEU – £7.5 Xen/OpenVZ VPS with 256MB in Germany

VPSEU is an UK company that has its domain registered in December 2009 (with privacy protection, argh!) and has its servers in Frankfurt Germany (which I guess where “EU” in its domain name came from). €8.57/month (USD $10.93).

  • 256MB memory + 768MB burstable memory (for OpenVZ)
  • 15GB storage
  • 100GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ or Xen + SolusVM

Good that Xen or OpenVZ of the same spec are at the same price.

But if you order Annually OpenVZ is €7.71/M but Xen is €7.14/M
