EchoServers has released their new plans and specs for their line up of virtual servers. The price tag of their standard package is still the same — $5.99/month, but with updated specifications:
- 192MB guaranteed/384MB burstable memory
- 5GB storage
- 300GB/month data transfer
- 2 IP addresses
- OpenVZ/HyperVM
Servers are hosted in Chicago with Equinix.
Why EchoServers?
All Echoservers virtual private servers are guaranteed the full resources listed below. We also include HyperVM Control Panel, full root access and a full list of OS options.
Unlike all of our competitors our servers are not over-sold. Our business model is designed to load a VPS node to 100% of it’s effective capacity and no higher. It is our goal to provide our customers with the best service and highest quality VPSes possible. If you enjoy your VPS, you’ll tell others about us, and that is how we make money, not through overloading VPS nodes.

VPSRepublic has some some amazingly cheap VPS deals, starting at $4.50/month (!!). You get
* 128MB guaranteed / 256MB burstable memory
* 1GB storage
* 75GB monthly data transfer
* OpenVZ
* Debian / Ubuntu / CentOS / Fedora / Gentoo / OpenSUSE
Their standard plan also fits into the criteria at $5.50/month with 256MB/512MB of memory. Their servers are at KevWorks in Los Angeles. Not sure about the control panel but as their site is hosted on an LxAdmin host, I presume it would be HyperVM based. Their domain was only registered early this month so caveat emptor. You can find out more about the owner by googling around.

echoServers.com has recently recently upgraded their plan (which I suspect has actually been a while) so that for $5.99/month, you can get 96MB of guaranteed memory for your OpenVZ VPS instead of 96MB.
