SimpleRack has been providing various services from shared hosting to colo. Their website tracerouted to Joe’s Datacenter in Kansas City so I assume that’s where are all the other services are located (including the VPS). Domain was registered for a bit more than a year. There is no indication that SimpleRack is not a one man show, and from the owner’s Facebook page he might have some other priorities. It does have an SLA though, probably covered by the DC.

Richard from Hertz Web Solutions emailed me about their current offer on WHT. OpenVZ-based virtual servers in Dallas, and there are a few low end packages from $3.40/month. For $4.80/month however, would get you their HWS-US 128 package

The 128MB package has changed quite a bit since earlier this year. It gets less storage quota, less monthly data quota, but quite a bit cheaper. It’s UK based partnership started in 2007.

The servers are located in Kansas City. Exactly the same package as AngiHost as well (and AngiHost is 55 cents/month cheaper), so I assume that it is also in the Oak Tower. Who would be hosting these servers? I have no idea but my guess would be with Joe’s or Wholesale Internet? As the plans are exactly the same, these might be reseller accounts — but who are they reselling?
Ostach itself has only had its domain registered since February this year, with WHOIS protected registrant info (argh!) From the website they also seem to resell BurstNet’s in Scranton, and someone else’s in Orlando (probably DimeNOC).
