Ben from RackVM has emailed me about their up-coming exclusive offer for LowEndBox readers — 50% off discount on OpenVZ servers with coupon code LOWENDBOX-June. After the discount their packages start from just £3/month (~USD$4.33), and you get
- 384MB guaranteed/768MB burstable memory
- 25GB storage
- 250GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Servers are with RackVM’s private rack in Kent Science Park in UK. The OpenVZ package can access 2 CPU cores and limit to 2GHz. Discount applies to monthly payments, but can also be used on longer term.

Via this offer on WHT. Diverse Web is a UK based private hosting company. Their home page says “in the hosting industry since 2006″, although their domain was only registered early this month (by an UK Individual), and on the WHT thread it says “We are now into our second month providing solutions”. They do have some VMWare VPS ready for pre-order though. For 2.50 GBP/month (~USD$3.62) you will get the “VPS Mini” with the following spec
- 128MB memory
- 5GB storage
- 50GB/month data transfer
From the IP posted on WHT it appears that their servers are with SingleHop in Chicago IL. Now, these are pre-order packages and the VPS won’t be set up until 2nd of June. Last time someone tried to sell pre-ordered VPS packages it did not turn out to be that well. Not saying the provider is dodgy, but since the discount does not apply to VPS Mini you might want to wait until then if you really want to give a VMWare VPS a test drive.

Via this WHT offer. Does anyone know about this provider, Lightwave.Net? The logo looks like it’s created from GIMP. Domain was registered back in 1997. WHT user was created back in 2003. However there is not much info on the website about this provider. They have also recently announced the availability of their OpenVZ packages, which starts from $7/month with the following spec:
- 256MB memory
- 20GB storage
- 200Gb/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
- 1x IPv4 + 2x IPv6
They use the data center in San Jose with IP provided by Ethr.net. The IP range is registered to “Lightwave Networking LLC” (which I guess I can dig out more info if I know how to do US business lookup). On their product page they are also intending to provide Xen PV, Xen HVM and KVM hosting. On their dedicated server testimony page though they do have nenolod of RapidXen as reference.
Would be an interesting provider to look out for.

Via this WHT offer. AlphaHostPlus is a hosting company from San Marino, according to its WHOIS info. Seriously, my geography is so bad that I have no idea where San Marino is when I looked up. It does have some seriously cheap virtual server packages though. For 2.85 EUR/month (~$3.53 USD at the moment) you can get this low end box:
- 96MB guaranteed/192MB burstable memory
- 3GB storage
- 50GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Servers are in Germany. Domain has been registered since September 2009 so the company is still considered “new”.

Via this WHT offer. Here is another new offer from 2HOST. Another things to note — their offer seems to get worse and worse over time. Still great deal for a Xen VPS, but long gone was the day that you can get 512MB Xen for 5 bucks/month. Instead, for $5.21/month you can get the following package:
- 256MB memory/512MB swap
- 15GB storage on RAID10
- 1,000GB/month data transfer
- 2 CPU core2
- Xen/SolusVM
Order it on this link. Servers are in Asheville NC. Tom from 2HOSt wrote to me saying that they have just set up 15 new nodes and want to load them up. Here is a promo code to get 75% off 1st month — L0W3ND2H0ST. Sorry the discount is not recurring.

Via this offer on WHT. HostLatch has turned 1 last month, and have been promoting their anniversary special ever since. $5.95/Month, and you get
- 384MB guaranteed/512GB burstable memory
- 30GB storage
- 500GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Now, this is embarrassing to feature such a “high end” VPS on LowEndBox.com, and I have never had a server with 1GB of memory or more. Servers are in Orlando or Dallas. I had my HostLatch VPS for 4-5 months now. Initially in Atlanta GA and now moved to Orlando FL. Up time is okay (except once bitten by a SolusVM bug).

I have been a follower of Rus’ Twitter feed for a while, and have recently learnt that he has quit VAServ and started another VPS hosting company — DamnVPS. Yeah you thought something like FsckVPS was slightly inappropriately named, this one is not any better. It has just announced the opening offer on their blog, and for $5.95/month you can get the following system
- 512MB guaranteed/1024MB burstable memory
- 15GB storage
- 1TB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ
These apply to only US-based OpenVZ plans, and you can choose between Los Angeles (West Coast), Dallas (Center) or New Jersey (East Coast). Not too sure about the availability of these locations, as the company has just been set up.
Well. Rus has certainly been a veteran in the virtual server hosting space. All the best to his new venture.

Via this WHT offer. RackVM is now also offering OpenVZ virtual servers service (also with existing Xen VPS), and is currently having a 40% off discount with promo code RackVM-June. So for £3.60/month (USD ~$5.20) you can get the following virtual server:
- 384MB guaranteed/768MB burstable memory
- 25GB storage
- 250GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Servers are again located in Kent Science Park Data Centre in UK. Still a pretty young company. Let’s see whether they can build up their reputation as a long lasting provider.

Ken from Virpus emailed me to update me on their exclusive deals for the readers. They are now discounting $2/month for life for readers here, when you sign up with a promotion code 2OFF. That means their already-cheap U-Basic is now $5/month with the following specification:
- 512MB guaranteed/2048MB burstable memory
- 25GB storage
- 1600GB/month or 5mbps unmetered bandwidth
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Servers are in Kansas City. Migration to SolusVM is definitely a good plus. I had used their service for 2 months — old Opteron hardware but overall it’s not bad.
